This site lies in the functional floodplain of the Thames. It floods from time to time and as a result the ground floor of the house had to be set 8 feet above ground level. The Customer wanted to replace an existing house with a well planned and energy efficient dwelling that opened up to the extensive gardens surrounding the property.
