A harmony of old and new

Rear of property with glass windows from floor to roof

Copperleaf, a striking contemporary home in Cheltenham, exemplifies how advanced construction techniques can harmonise with historic environments. This project, led by Psyte Architects, leverages over four decades of combined architectural expertise to create a residence that is both forward-thinking and contextually respectful.

Central to Copperleaf’s construction success was the use of the Structural Insulated Panels, chosen for its superior energy efficiency and speed of installation. Glosford SIPS played an essential role in coordinating and customising the system to fit the project’s unique requirements, including the narrow site, the need for a robust superstructure, and the integration of a basement level—an uncommon combination in SIPs construction.

Copperleaf is a prime example of how modern construction methods, particularly the use of SIPS technology, can be successfully integrated into complex, sensitive sites. The careful integration of traditional and contemporary design elements ensures the home is both visually appealing and energy-efficient. Glosford SIPS’ expertise was instrumental in achieving a structure that marries contemporary efficiency with architectural integrity.

Copperleaf is a great example of blending old and new together.
