Mike Fleming, one of Glosford’s founding directors, is retiring at the end of 2022 after 44 years of working within our industry.

Mike began his career in the manufacturing and construction sector back in 1978 at a joinery company in Gloucester. Quickly he moved up the ranks and had various roles throughout the Jewson business until the late 1990’s.  In 1998 Palgrave Brown was formed which was made up of all manufacturing business owned by the Jewson and Montague Meyer Group at that time. Mike was leading the sales and marketing team as Group Commercial Director all the way until he formed Glosford in 2009.

During the early days of Glosford’s development Mike was instrumental in generating new business leads, estimating, site visits and pretty much any other day-to-day development of the business.

During his time he has seen the company grow from undertaking a single extension project to being the market leading SIP company in the UK today.

Glosford’s development over this time is testament to Mike’s hard work, relentless drive and attention to detail without which the joint acquisition in 2020 by the Wyckham Blackwell and Keystone Group would not have been possible.

His legacy at Glosford is a well settled team with vast knowledge and experience of the superstructures Glosford supply along with the wider construction and manufacturing industry.

Whilst Mike will be a big miss to the business he has ensured it is in the best possible position to continue successfully when he disappears into the sunset.

Speaking of which his first decision in retirement is to undertake a SIPs build in rural Herefordshire, built by Glosford of course!

All of the team here that know Mike also know before the end of January 2023 he won’t be able to resist popping his head through the door just to wind us up!
